But, I did……

I have been a recovering alcoholic since 1986 and this experience boosted my need, desire, and path in personal wellness from the inside out. In addition, this illness had begun a snowball effect of continued health illnesses, surgeries, and finally chronic pain. I am due for 4 joint replacements in the next 5-7 years and I am only in my late forties now in 2011. Pain is an intruder in my life each and every day. The only difference is the level of intensity where many days it seems so ‘loud’ I just cover my ears and pray for relief. I have my specialists I work with and have found some relief. Most people just do not understand 'chronic pain'... for me... it NEVER lets up...I didn't get breaks unless I did something about it. It didn't come and go, I had to manage it.

I have found a routine working from home, but gradually found myself in bed most of the time - with my computer of course. :) I sleep with an electric blanket under the fitted sheet and use it like a giNormous heating pad. It was that bad! Heat was my best friend and I couldn't live without it. Being away from my 'heat' was torture, but I had to live life. Even though my world seemed to grow smaller and smaller, I chose to look at all the fruits in my life. I had many and I would compartmentalize the pain as much as possible, but there is a limit.

I have severe fibromyalgia, arthritis with joint deterioration, and vestibular damage.
